Immigrating to another country is hard. Daniel has left his native Iran and is now living in Oklahoma as a refugee. Trying to connect to his classmates, Daniel weaves together his own 1,001 tales that include stories about his life in Iran, his new life in Oklahoma, Iranian myths, and old family tales that he shares with them. His stories will make you laugh, cry, wonder, and ponder how different we all are yet how alike we are, too. Everything Sad Is Untrue by Daniel Nayeri is a wonderful coming of age story appropriate for fifth grade and above.
