San Antonio School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in San Antonio is August 14. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The San Antonio Independent School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/7 - 8/11: Staff Development, Convocation, Teacher Work Days
• 8/14: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/22: No School for Students (Staff Development)

October

• 10/13: End of First 9 Weeks
• 10/16: No School for Students (Staff Development)
• 10/17: Start of Second 9 Weeks

November

• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/20: End of Second 9 Weeks
• 12/22 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/8: No School for Students (Staff Development)
• 1/9: Start of Third 9 Weeks
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)

February

• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day), Bad Weather Makeup Day

March

• 3/9: End of Third 9 Weeks
• 3/12 - 3/16: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/19: No School for Students (Staff Development)
• 3/20: Start of Fourth 9 Weeks
• 3/30: No School (Easter Break)

April

• 4/27: No School (Holiday - Battle of Flowers)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)
• 5/30: Last Day of School
