Man Killed In 2-Car South Austin Wreck Identified

Victor Carr, 64, was killed along 1100 block of Airport Boulevard after turning in front of another car traveling in the opposite direction.

AUSTIN, TX — Police on Tuesday identified the motorist killed in a two-car collision along Airport Boulevard over the weekend.

According to a police investigation, a 2011 gray Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound in the right lane of the 1100 block of Airport Boulevard on May 18, just before 2 p.m. Meanwhile, a red 2013 Kia Soul was traveling southbound on Airport Boulevard before turning left in front of the Corolla, police learned.

The impact sent the driver of the Kia to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:22 a.m. He was identified as Victor Carr, 64. The driver and passenger of the Corolla were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police added.

Police said the crash is Austin’s 30th fatal traffic crash of 2019, resulting in 31 fatalities this year. At this time in 2018, police added, there were 22 fatal traffic crashes and 23 traffic fatalities.
