Naked, Possibly Armed Man Prompts South Austin School Lockdown
Police responded to Travis Heights Elementary School, 2010 Alameda Dr., amid reports of a man without clothes on saying he had a gun.
SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Reports of an unclothed, possibly armed man prompted the lockout of a nearby South Austin elementary school on Monday, police said.
Officers responded to a call at Travis Heights Elementary School, 2010 Alameda Dr., just before 3 p.m. amid areports of a naked man in the area who was possibly armed, police said in an emailed advisory. Although summer after-school activities ended there at 1:30 p.m., police note, there were still 36 children on site at the time of the incident.
As a result, police added, the children were moved to a safe area inside the school that was subsequently placed on lockout mode. The lockout has since been lifted, but police continued to search for the suspect into early evening.

The man is described as a white male with dirty blond hair who is some five feet, eight inches in height. He is of thin build, and was clutching onto a pair of jeans and a black shirt at the time he was spotted. The suspect reportedly stated he had a gun, police added, but he did not display it. While the man was unclothed, it was feared he could have been hiding the purported weapon in the garments he was clutching at the time.
