Pedestrian Killed In South Austin
Austin-Travis County EMS medics were dispatched to FM 1625, where they found a man already dead in the middle of the road.
AUSTIN, TX — A pedestrian was killed Saturday night in southeast Travis County, medics said.
The incident occurred along FM 1625 and South U.S. 183 just south of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport just before 10 p.m., medics said via Twitter. Medics were alerted to an injured man in the middle of the road, finding the pedestrian dead at the scene.
Road closures and extended traffic delays resulted from the incident. It's unknown whether the motorist who struck the man stayed at the scene to assist in the ensuing investigation. Patch will update when police release more details.
