Police Seek Help Solving South Austin Killing

Guillermo Bernal Gomez, 32, was found mortally wounded at an apartment complex at 3603 Southridge Dr. early Sunday.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the public in connection to a man's death in South Austin.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 23, just before 3 am. at 3603 Southridge Dr. There, police found a mortally wounded Guillermo Bernal Gomez, 32, at an apartment complex. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police didn't specify the nature of the victim's injuries, saying an autopsy was pending.

"Detectives are still trying to determine if this homicide was random or if the victim knew his assailant," police wrote in an advisory. "Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS or text "Tip 103" + a message to CRIMES or use the new Crime Stoppers App or email APD Homicide at homicide.apd@austintexas.gov.
