Houston Communities Plan Somber Tribute For George H.W. Bush
Communities along the Bush funeral route are coordinating areas where the public can pay their respects to President Bush who died Nov. 30.

SPRING, TX — Local communities in the Greater Houston area are preparing to pay their respects to the late President George H.W. Bush on Thursday, when the train carrying him to the Bush Presidential Library in College Station passes through the area.
The Bush 4141 Locomotive is expected to get underway in Spring at 1 p.m., and pass through areas north of Tomball, including Hufsmith, Magnolia, and Todd Mission.
Officials in Klein ISD in Spring announced on Tuesday that students from Klein Oak High School, Hildebrandt Intermediate, Schultz Elementary, and Northampton Elementary will be going outside to view President George H.W. Bush's custom-painted funeral train as it travels in front of their schools.

"We want to give our community the opportunity to witness this procession and will be covering the event by providing a live stream. You can view our live stream directly by clicking here or by visiting our Klein ISD Facebook page. Additionally, we will be holding school on the National Day of Mourning (Wednesday, Dec. 5). Schools will be honoring President Bush’s legacy with an extended moment of silence," Klein ISD officials said in a statement.

The train is expected to pass the respecdt5ive campuses between 1:10 and 1:40 p.m. Additionally, JROTC cadets from Klein Oak high school will be in their dress uniforms lining the track and saluting as the train passes.

Meanwhile, officials in Magnolia expect Bush 4141 to pass through the center of their city at about 2 p.m.Officials announced street closures on the city’s Facebook page, and urged residents to use common sense and courtesy when it comes to traffic and parking in the area.
Magnolia residents who plan to pay their respects can pick up a free American flag at the downtown depot At about 11:30 a.m.
