Children's Lighthouse Spring Harmony Earns AdvancED® Accreditation

Spring, Texas – Children’s Lighthouse Spring-Harmony today announced that it has received accreditation from AdvancED®, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of Pre-K-12 schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential.
Childrens Lighthouse Franchise Company, franchisor of Children’s Lighthouse Spring-Harmony, received its certification from AdvanceED® in January 2017. Children’s Lighthouse is widely recognized as the leading values-based early learning school system in the United States.

In order to grant accreditation, AdvancED® conducted several in-depth interviews with the center’s leadership, teachers, staff and parents to make sure Children’s Lighthouse Spring-Harmony met AdvancED®’s five main standards, which include: purpose and direction; governance and leadership; teaching and assessing for learning; resources and support systems; and, using results for continuous improvement.
The combination of nurturing care and a comprehensive curriculum for young children puts Children’s Lighthouse at the head of its class. First introduced in 2014, Children’s Lighthouse’s proprietary curriculum, Lighthouse C.A.R.E.S.℠, is based on five foundations:

- Comprehensive inclusion of cognitive, affective and psychomotor development
- Active engagement
- Research-centered practice
- Embedded (or integrated) content
- Standards-based objectives
This proprietary curriculum also includes the use of "brain-based" teaching and learning strategies and a targeted STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) component. The curriculum is provided to all children ages two through five.
Children’s Lighthouse recognizes that parents and guardians play an essential role in a child’s education. In order to help engage parents and connect them to their child’s learning, Children’s Lighthouse added Lighthouse Connections℠ in the curriculum, which includes sending detailed monthly calendars that describe daily activities, as well as monthly information on curriculum topics to parents.
