On April 4, 2019, investigators discovered that Letourneau solicited inmates inside the Harris County jail to kill the complainant in his case to prevent her testimony.
Investigators said Letourneau provided inmates methodical and detailed information regarding the woman's whereabouts and routine, and offered to provide payment in the form of tangible property and cash once the woman was dead.
Constable Mark Herman said once investigators were tipped off by one of the inmates, they were able to intervene and stop the murder from taking place.
Herman said the charges were filed with Harris County District Attorney's Office charging Letourneau with solicitation of capital murder. He is currently being held without bond.
