O’ The Irony!
An opinion on the disparity between sworn duty, vetting, and a free pass for scofflaws.
Earlier this week, Joe Biden was sworn in as the forty-sixth President of the United States of America. But in the days leading up to the ceremony, members of the armed forces were subject to a vetting process which tested their loyaltydue to what some leaders believed to be a credible inside threat to the incoming administration. This vetting process was in addition to the extensive background and character checks in place for persons which have already done in order to swear to defend the nation and our Constitution.
Shortly after President Biden took the oath of office, he began to fulfill his promise to begin to undo executive orders issued by the Trump administration, namely on immigration and DACA. One order in particular is a moratorium on deportation of illegal immigrants, and other orders to begin the process of granting amnesty to over ten million illegal immigrants.
And herein lies the irony. If a citizen which had already passed background checks is going to subjected to even more credulous vetting, why then is there no vetting of illegal immigrants? Is this not why there is a legal process to immigrate into the country?

And what of the people from other countries which wait years to come legally? These people have applied, gone through a lengthy vetting process, as well as medical screenings. I remember one acquaintance telling me that they waited fourteen years to bring his aunt over from Punjab Province, legally.
And now, deportations are a thing of the past. President Biden has signed an executive order which places a moratorium on the deportation of all illegal immigrants. This includes felons.

Felons like Luis Bracamontes, which killed two law enforcement officers, wounding a third, and made a mockery of our broken justice system, after having been deported previously two times. He was found guilty, sentenced to death and awaits his lengthy appeal process.
Felons like Christhian Bahena Rivera, who is on trial For the murder of Mollie Tibbetts. Her body had been found in a cornfield about a month after her disappearance July 18, 2018.
These examples may seem to be the exception, but they do repeat the news far too often all across the country. Adding credence to the party cry, “No One Is Above The Law!” Spoken time and time again by political leaders.
They say that crime in their communities is high because no one wants to come forward out of fear of deportation. And now begins the test of that statement. Now that they no longer have to fear deportation, will they finally come forward to name these criminals which cause harm to not only their communities, but every other community in the country?
But the reality is, allowing illegal immigration without the proper vetting and process will only have more innocent lives turned into stories on the five o’clock news. And this is why Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking to end this amnesty. To ensure the safety of all people.
Yet, some of the largest questions have yet to be asked and answered.
Does this amnesty for one cast of people violate discrimination laws?
Does this amnesty make your community safer?
Does this amnesty follow fair and equal treatment under the law, for everyone?
Currently, over 14,000 being held for deportation are in process of being released. Most of these detainees are violent criminals with prior convictions. These more than 14,000 detainees are the reason we have immigration laws.
To protect all the people in the country.
