Small Job for Cut Above Landscaping Made a Big Difference for Us

Small jobs can have big impact.

I am such a silly sod. In my blog post entitled, "Killing time at an Airport on a Sunday: How I Spent my Saturday Working in the Yard," I noted how I made a flagstone pathway from my backyard patio of our Cypress home to the side of my house where I store my garbage cans, so I could take out the trash without dirtying my feet on wet grass. As part of that project, I laid the flagstone and covered the adjacent grass with gardening soil to make the ground level with the flagstone instead of sinking the flagstone by digging.

At the end of that project, the side yard looked like this:

Given time, my hope was that the grass would grow and penetrate the gardening soil. That never happened. Oops.

Even after a year, the end result was this:

They removed the flagstone, dug out the area, replaced the flagstone, and cut sod to fill in around the flagstones. Now the side yard looks like:

Thanks to Cut Above Landscaping & Irrigation. They are great at jobs big and small, and this was indeed small for them, but a big deal for our family.
