Spring Woman Kidnapped At Knifepoint By Man Hiding In Her Car

The woman said she was leaving work Thursday evening. She got in her car, and she felt a sharp object pressed against her neck, police said.

SPRING, TX — A man who ambushed a woman by hiding in the backseat of her car, and robbed her at knifepoint is on the run. Deputy constables were called to the 16200 block of York Minster Drive on Thursday for an aggravated assault.

The woman told deputies she was leaving her job in the 16000 block of Stuebner Airline on Thursday evening.

When she got into her car, she felt someone pressing a sharp object pressed against her neck. The woman told police that a man, later identified as Robert Letourneau, 60, was hiding in her backseat with a knife or a screw driver.

The woman said Letourneau ordered her to drive him to two separate ATM’s and forced her to withdraw cash from her accounts. While she was held captive, Letourneau allegedly told the woman that he was homeless.

Police believe Letourneau lives in the area of Louetta Road. Letourneau eventually released her and fled, police said.

Through their investigation, constables identified the attacker as Letourneau and have issued a warrant for his arrest.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office accepted the charges of aggravated kidnapping and two counts of aggravated robbery against Letourneau.

He is currently wanted by law enforcement and anyone that knows his whereabouts are urged to contact the Precinct 4 Constable's at 281-376-3472, or your local law enforcement.
