Spring Woman Severely Burned In House Fire Dies: Police
Fire officials are looking into the cause of a fire that killed a 68-year-old Spring woman on Sunday evening.

SPRING, TX — The Harris County Fire Marshals Office is investigating the cause of a fire that claimed a 68-year-old woman’s life Sunday evening. The fire was reported at about 6 p.m. at a home in the 22500 block of Leafygate Drive in Spring.
Firefighters with the Spring Fire Department found two women inside the home when they arrived at the home.
One of the women, who officials said may have been the other woman’s caretaker, was taken from the home suffering from possible smoke inhalation.

Firefighters went back into the home and removed the second woman who’d been severely burned, officials said.
HCFMO has been notified that the 68-year-old female who was taken to the hospital in critical condition has passed away. Investigators are still working to determine the origin and cause of the fire.

She was rushed to an area hospital, but died from her injuries several hours later, officials said.

Fire investigators said they encountered a possible case of hoarding inside the home. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
Police have not released the deceased woman's identity.
