2 Katy Toddlers Hospitalized After Near-Drowning Incidents
Two children are in the hospital after they were nearly drowned at two Katy area pool parties on Monday.

KATY, TX — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to two separate near-drowning incidents involving small children on Monday. Deputies responded to the 4900 block of Windcross Court at about 7 p.m. Monday after a 2-year-old girl was found at the bottom of a neighbors pool.
When deputies arrived, the homeowner was performing CPR on the child, who was rushed to Texas Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
Deputies said the mother and her child were invited over to the neighbor’s home for a swim on Monday. After swimming, the mother and the homeowner said they into the home to grab a few items before leaving.

Deputies said one of the children ran inside and alerted the parents who ran outside, pulled the child from the pool and began CPR.

An hour later, deputies responded to the 3500 block of Paintbrush Dawn Court in Katy after a 2-year-old girl was found at the bottom of a hot tub during a pool party, officials said.

Deputies said there were about a dozen adults at the party, and at some point, they realized the child was missing, KTRK reported.
The child was rushed to Texas Children’s Hospital. Charges have not been filed in either case.
