Animal Waste Spill Cleaned Up From Southwest Freeway

SUGAR LAND, TX — A sordid mess of animal parts and waste that littered the left lanes of Interstate 69 during Tuesday morning rush hour was finally cleaned up several hours later.

All lanes on I-69 nortbound from Sugar Land were reopened shortly before noon, several hours after the mishap near Williams Trace Boulevard.

The incident caused a smelly traffic mess that backed up traffic south of First Colony Boulevard and to State Highway 6.

No one was injured in the incident. Hazmat crews from the Texas Department of Transportation were sent to clean up the animal waste.
