Child Drowns At Fort Bend County Pool During Family Outing
Three children under the age of 5-years old have drown in Harris and Fort End County since the start of the summer season.
SUGAR LAND, TX — A 3-year-old boy drowned Sunday evening during a family outing at an apartment complex, officials said. Police were called to The Enclave at Woodridge Apartments At about 4 p.m.
Investigators said the boy had been wearing floaties on his arms and waist earlier while he was in the pool, but his family took them off, so he could eat.
The boy apparently left his family and went to sit by the pool after he finished eating and fell in, police said.

The child was underwater for several minutes before his father noticed him missing and found him at the bottom of the pool.
Family members performed CPR, but the child was pronounced dead at the scene. This latest incident is the third drowning involving small children within the last two weeks.

During the Memorial Day weekend on May 26, two 2-year-old girls were injured in two separate incidents in neighborhood pools in Katy. Both girls later died.
One 2-year-old girl was found in a family pool at a residence in the 4900 block of Windcross Court in far west Harris County. Family members located the toddler at around 5:40 p.m.
A 2-year-old girl was also found unresponsive in a family residence pool in the 3500 block of Paintedbrush Dawn Court at 8:30 p.m. that Sunday evening.
