Children's Discovery Center in Sugar Land Gets New Train

The Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center in Sugar Land has a new train.

SUGAR LAND, TX — The Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center has opened a new, interactive train and roundhouse play experience that gives aspiring conductors the opportunity to live out their dream of operating a big locomotive.

Underwritten by Union Pacific Railroad, the train features an engine, car and caboose adorned in the company’s familiar yellow and red colors with its logo prominently displayed. A caboose roof and mounted train wheels add to its look and feel.

Located in the museum’s TotSpot exhibit, the play area also features a dual-level, brick-textured roundhouse where children can imagine locomotives being serviced after a long day on the rails.

Its spacious raised platform features a captivating FlagHouse bubble tube while a slide provides ready access to the first level where tots can access a tunnel through two barn doors.
