City of Sugar Land Looking for Volunteers for Imperial Redevelopment Board
The city of Sugar Land is looking for volunteers for the Imperial Redevelopment board of directors

SUGAR LAND, TX — The Imperial redevelopment project is one of the largest and most high profile projects in Sugar Land and the city is looking for volunteers to help steer the ship.
The city is accepting applications to serve on the Imperial Redevelopment District Board of Directors. The board oversees the overall management and operation of the district, technically Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #3.

The board also implements the redevelopment agreements associated with the Imperial project. Board members are appointed by city council and serve staggered four-year terms that end on Sept. 1 of even-numbered years.
Interested parties should complete the application, which can be found here, and return it by Aug. 11. Applicants are also encouraged to attend an informational meeting at City Hall, 2700 Town Center Blvd., at 6 p.m. on Aug. 8.

Interviews with the top applicants will be conducted by a City Council task force on the evening of Aug. 18 prior to the task force making a recommendation to the City Council regarding appointments.
