Fort Bend ISD is the largest school district of Harris County and is, overall, the state's seventh-largest district, with 75 campuses spanning the K-12 public education system. The Extended Day Program employs a number of components to keep children engaged, including homework time, snack, structured and unstructured gym play, clubs and computer time.

Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy encourages learning outside the box and boasts a truly innovative program. Kids 'R' Kids has designed a facility, called Kidopoly, with an activity center feel that features Ballocity, a multi-level play and exercise platform that incorporates slides, tunnels and ball play. The learning academy also offers homework help, supervised activities and child-directed play. Advance registration is required to determine availability.

The Perry Abernathy Recreation Center's Prime Time After School Program is open to the community and focuses on children's expression of individuality while learning to respect others in work and play. The program is available weekdays for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Tuition includes holidays, and pick-up is available at eight locations. Greatwood KinderCare's every classroom, activity and lesson is designed to help prepare children for success in school and beyond, with classroom features encompassing a print-rich environment full of carefully selected materials, written charts and labels and children’s literature. After-school care is available for children up to 12 years old.

  • When: Weekdays until 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: 903 Greatwood Glen Dr.
  • Cost: Prices vary by region

Young Leaders offers preschool and childcare enrichment, with a highly visible location that features a circle drive, landscaped campus and custom-designed playground and natural area. Classrooms are designed specifically for each age group. The after-school program provides a safe place for children to interact, develop friendships, receive homework assistance, healthy snacks and engage in creative activities. Students experience an indoor gym, specialty labs, a technology lounge and a library. Full-day programs are also available for summer and holiday camps.
