Fort Bend School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Fort Bend is August 22. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Fort Bend Independent School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/14: District Professional Learning
• 8/15 - 8/18: Campus Professional Learning/District Focus
• 8/21: Teacher Work Day
• 8/22: First Day of Classes

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/29: No School (Fort Bend County Fair Day)

October

• 10/19: Early Release for Students (Elementary Parent Conferences, Secondary Professional Learning), End of Nine Week Period
• 10/20: No School for Students (Professional Learning/Planning Day)

November

• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/18 - 12/21: Exams
• 12/20: Middle and High School Students Early Release
• 12/21: Early Release for Students, End of First Semester
• 12/22 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/3: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/4: No School for Students (Campus Professional Learning/Planning)
• 1/5: No School for Students (Teacher Work Day)
• 1/8: First Day of Classes Second Semester
