Harmony School of Science High Awarded TEA distinctions
TEA awards six Harmony Public School campus with highest distinctions
Harmony School of Science climbed to new heights this year by earning all seven academic distinctions from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the 2015-16 school year. HSSH is one of six Harmony campuses statewide awarded all seven TEA distinctions. The TEA announced these achievements Wednesday, September 14, 2016.
"It is a great moment to recognize and congratulate the daily investment of our outstanding staff and student body. I am humbled by their dedication and commitment to high standards,” Mr. Alpaslan Uzgoren, Harmony School of Science Principal said.
Schools can earn distinctions applicable to their campuses in up to seven topics, including math, science, social studies and English/Language Arts. Schools are rated within a group of 40 peer campuses similar in type, size and student demographics.
“We are so proud to once again be among the top-ranking districts in Texas,” said Zekeriya Yuksel, Harmony’s Superintendent of Schools. “Harmony’s teachers, students and parents deserve all the praise for their tremendous efforts bolstering our mission. These distinctions highlight how every Harmony graduate is prepared to advance on to higher academics and be a leader in the STEM fields.”
Harmony’s six campuses are among the approximately 400 schools statewide that earned all seven distinctions.
