The Honor Roll School Raises More Than $2,000 for the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Inc.
Students made soup bowls and auctioned them off as part of the Fort Bend Empty Bowls community service effort
Students and family members from The Honor Roll School in Sugar Land recently raised more than $2,000 for the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Inc. (EFBHNM) through the Fort Bend Empty Bowls service effort. To raise the funds, students created and decorated bowls in art class, which they sold to their family members during an Empty Bowls family night at the school. During the event, family members enjoyed soup and bread donated by The Healthy Lunchbox and served by Honor Society students. The simple meal of soup and bread was served in recognition and support of those who don’t have enough to eat.
EFBHNM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization that seeks to address the basic human needs of persons in temporary financial crisis in East Fort Bend County. Fort Bend Empty Bowls is a community service effort that disburses food to area families in need
