The Honor Roll School Students in Sugar Land Conduct Water Monitoring Test in Celebration of Earth Day

Eighth grade students tested coliform bacteria, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, temperature and more using water at Brazos Bend State Park

On April 21, eighth grade students from The Honor Roll School in Sugar Land conducted a water monitoring test at nearby Brazos Bend State Park in celebration of Earth Day. The students used water monitoring kits to test for coliform bacteria, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), nitrate, pH, phosphate, temperature and turbidity. Students used their test results to assess the health of the lake water in the park, as well as the overall health of the ecosystem. The Honor Roll School teaches the vital role water quality plays in our lives and the safety of the environment.
