The Honor Roll School® Students Volunteer at Houston Food Bank in Honor of Veterans Day

Third, fourth and fifth graders sorted food alongside veterans, service members, police officers and firefighters

Students from The Honor Roll School in Sugar Land volunteered at the Houston Food Bank alongside veterans, service members, police officers and firefighters on Friday, Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans Day. Third, fourth and fifth graders sorted and packed donated food items and toured the facility as part of a service project. The field trip was an opportunity for The Honor Roll School students to connect with those who have served our country while giving back to community members in need. The Houston Food Bank, which is the second largest food bank in the nation, feeds 800,000 people each year by distributing food through nearly 600 hunger relief agencies in 18 southeast Texas counties.
