Ken Gregorski Named Katy ISD Superintendent After 7-0 Vote

Katy ISD trustees made it official and named Ken Gregorski the new superintendent. He replaces Lance Hindt who retired this month.

KATY, TX — Interim Katy ISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski now has the job [permanently after the district’s board of trustees voted 7-0 to appoint him district superintendent.

Gregorski, who was named acting superintendent in November, replaced Lance Hindt who was accused of bullying by a former classmate during an open Katy ISD meeting last year, and accused of plagiarism on his doctoral dissertation.

Hindt, who denied being a school bully while a student in Katy ISD in the 70s and early 80s, announced his retirement last summer.

Gregorski, who was the lone applicant to replace Hindt, previously served as the district’s deputy superintendent over various departments, including Human Resources, School Leadership and Support, and Athletics.

He has more than 25 years experience in education.
