Mo' City Changes School Zone Times
Missouri City will be changing the times of their school zones to better reflect school start and end times.

MISSOURI CITY, TX — Over the next few days Mo' City residents can expect to see city workers replacing school zone signs. It doesn't mean that school zones have stopped being in effect.
It means that the city is changing the time school zones are in operation to reflect what time school starts. The Fort Bend ISD board voted in April to add 15 minutes to the school day, effective this fall.

FBISD elementary school students will now be starting class at 8:10 a.m. and leaving school at 3:25 p.m. Middle schoolers will be in session from 8:55 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. and high school students go from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Mo' City school zones are in effect from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and from 3:15 to 4 p.m. around elementary schools. School zones around middle schools will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The zones around high schools kick in from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and from 3:15 p.m. to 4 p.m. The only exception is Progressive High School, which helps high school students catch up for graduation.
Because Progressive High School has a later start time, the school zones will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 3:15 p.m. to 4 p.m.
