Police ID Pilot Killed In Katy Plane Crash

Investigators said 69-year-old Noshir Medhora was the pilot killed in a single-engine aircraft crash in Katy Saturday morning

KATY, TX — The pilot of a single-engine aircraft that crashed into a Katy area community center Saturday morning was positively identified, according to the Harris County Pct. 5 Constables Office. Investigators said 69-year-old Noshir Medhora was alone in the aircraft when he took off from the West Houston Airport.

Harris County P ct. 5 Constable Ted Heap said the aircraft was not in the air very long before it suddenly lost altitude and crashed into at storage building at the Mason Creek Community Center and Pool at about 10:30 a.m.

Investigators said no one else was injured. Heap said the FAA, NTSB and DPS are handling the investigation. The cause of the plane crash is unknown at this time.

Precinct 5 deputies are asking people to avoid the area while the debris is being cleaned up.

The community center and pool are closed for now, and the southbound side of Houghton Road. south of Kingsland Boulevard. is temporarily closed to traffic, officials said.
