Reap What You Sow

Bernie Sanders, DNC, Clinton

I just read an article about class action lawsuits against the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and its previous chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and I can't help but chuckle to myself. Ok, smirk, if you will. Because everything that has occurred has happened because of hubis: hubis of Hillary Clinton, hubris of the Democratic National Committee and hubris of Debbie Wasserman Schultz. If the DNC had left well enough alone, if they had not meddled to such a large degree in the logical nomination of a presidential contender, the Democrats may have won the biggest ring of all: the White House. But not with Hillary as President-elect and Bill as First Dude. Rather, it would have been Bernie Sanders as POTUS. Because only Bernie could have beaten Donald Trump. Which was why he was gleeful when he found out that the Democratic party had all but thrown out the red carpet for Hillary and threw Bernie under the bus. Trump knew that his chances increased exponentially with Hillary running against him rather than Bernie. Sanders had all the right set up, he had all the right instincts, he came across as honest (as honest as one can be and still be called a politician), he had no extra baggage or scandal in his closets. In fact, Bernie had nothing that Trump could use against him in political debates. Because while Trump is not a complete villain (despite the Clinton clones and their social media antics), neither is he a Prince, with his 3 wives and his attitude toward women. The Clintonites would like to say that it was Trump's attitude toward women and minorities that should have excluded him from being President of a diverse society as the United States. But stack that up against Hillary's sins (which came out through Huma Abedin's husband, Wikileaks, and previous scandals) and Trump looked like a saint. But when you stack Trump up against Bernie, despite the fact that Bernie is an avowed socialist, Bernie could have taken the prize. Instead, Trump was elected President, despite the popular vote (which is tricky in and of itself). So, in fact, when Hillary is looking to blame someone, she should look in the mirror. However, she should find comfort in the fact that the DNC is now mired in legal lawsuits for breaking their own laws. But to Democrats, breaking laws is not a big deal. It's only if you get caught that it matters.
