Richmond Begins Mosquito Spraying This Week

Richmond will begin mosquito spraying twice a week, starting this week, officials announced.

RICHMOND, TX — The City of Richmond announced this week that the first mosquito spraying of summer will take place Thursday.

The City will begin weekly mosquito spraying in the late afternoon to early evening, and has already begun the process of laying out the mosquito dunks.

The announcement comes less than a week after officials in Montgomery County announced the discovery of West Nile in a mosquito sampling in Spring.

Richmond city leaders remind residents to do their part by dumping standing water in any items which hold water outside and immediately around your home, such as water in outdoor pots, children's toys, old tires....anywhere where water gathers.

The schedule for spraying in May will be Thursday May 16th, Saturday May 18th, Thursday May 23rd and Saturday May 25th.
