Richmond, TX Resident Receives NAACP Award

A Richmond, TX resident received an award at the recent NAACP national convention in Cincinnati.

RICHMOND, TX — John L. Davis IV, of Richmond, recently received the Globster B. Current award at the NAACP national convention in Cincinnati.

Davis was recognized for his community and collegiate activism. During his time in college, Davis helped organize and lead the 2014 Miles For Michael March to honor Michael Brown.

The controversial August 2014 shooting death of Brown in Ferguson, MO by police officer Darren Brown sparked a week of violent and non-violent protests and helped propel race relations to the forefront of many people's political agendas.
