The process to update the master plan is long and involved. Currently, the city is accepting public input via an online townhall. Once the public comment is closed, the plan will be sent to the city's Parks Art Recreation Culture and Streetscapes board.

After it receives board approval, it will go to the Planning and Zoning Commission before finally reaching city council. The entire approval process is expected to take about a year, with the first projects showing up in the city's capital improvement budget in 2018 at the earliest.
