Sugar Land In Full Holiday Mode For Christmas And New Year's Day
Christmas may be upon us, but there' no need to quash the holiday spirit just yet.

SUGAR LAND, TX — Don’t fret if you still have the holiday spirit after Christmas.
Holiday cheer will continue throughout December, as residents and visitors enjoy Christmas lights, ice skating and holiday entertainment galore at various locations throughout Sugar Land.
While the city of Sugar Land will not host its annual New Year’s Eve on the Square Celebration this year, there’s still plenty of opportunities to celebrate at many local hot spots -- pretty much something to do for everyone.

Sugar Land kicked off the holiday season with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting held Dec. 7 in Sugar Land Town Square.

Revelers enjoyed festive holiday games, activities, a variety of food vendors, and Santa Claus made a grand entrance to help light the city’s 40 foot Christmas tree in Sugar Land Town Square.
But there’s still a lot happening before and after Christmas
Christmas Lights: Sugar Land Holiday Lights at Constellation Field is back with a beautiful display of over 2.5 million lights! Bring family and friends to walk around the park to admire this sparkling wonderland and enjoy holiday activities. There will be eight themed areas, shopping, food and much more! Holiday lights will be open from Nov. 24 - Jan 1. There will be special themed nights throughout the season such as, Ornament Painting, Lights and Leashes and Military Appreciation Night.
The Nutcracker is taking on several forms this season from beautiful gliding figures on the ice at Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center to the classical ballet performances brought to the Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land’s stage by The Houston Ballet and Moscow Ballet. Each performance is sure to inspire wonder and magic to anyone who views it. Mannheim Steamroller will also be making its way to Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land on Friday, December 29th bringing along classics from their album that revolutionized holiday music 33 years ago.
Santa Visits Sugar Land: Santa has been sighted all throughout Sugar Land from First Colony Mall to Constellation Field to Sugar Land Town Square! The man of the season and Mrs. Claus are making their rounds to make sure they have every good boy and girl’s list before the 25th. Make sure to take your youngest family members to get their photo taken before it’s too late!

Of course, New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and local bars and restaurants will have specials, including midnight champagne toasts, drink specials and even brunch and buffet options for Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Some places celebrating the season and allowing you to stay close to home and spend your New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in Sugar Land include:
The Middle Spoon: The Middle Spoon is offering standard service with a speciality flight of 5 sample sized limited edition NYE champagne cocktails for $10.99 (full size available as well). Four chocolate-covered strawberries will come with every bottle of champagne purchased during New Year's Eve.
Vino & Vinyl: Vino & Vinyl is hosting a “Midnight Brunch” theme with passed appetizers. There will be a midnight champagne toast, mimosa bar and regular beer and wine for sale. $50 advance ticket purchase or $60 at the door.

HILTON GARDEN INN AT SUGAR LAND: The Hilton Garden Inn at Sugar Land is hosting Havana Nights on New Year’s Eve. The $99 VIP ticket gives you a gourmet buffet, 2 free drinks and a champagne toast. There will be a $89 special room rate for single and double queen rooms with breakfast included and a 1:30 PM checkout. Doors will open at 7:30 PM with dinner at 8 PM. Live music from Angelucho Copacabana and DJ Yuka Frita and dancing will begin at 10 PM until 2 AM.
FLYING SAUCER DRAUGHT EMPORIUM: Brunch will be offered from 11 AM – 2 PM in addition to their regular menu. A special draft and bottled beer menu will be available from 7 PM to close with special and rare offerings. A DJ will be performing in house from 10 PM to close with complimentary midnight champagne toast and party favors to ring in the New Year.
PERRY'S STEAKHOUSE & GRILLE: The New Year’s Eve menu will include one soup or salad, one entrée and one dessert. There will be a midnight celebration with a champagne toast in Bar 79. Reservation before 5:30 PM will be $59.95/person + tax and gratuity. Reservations after 5:45 PM will be $79.95/person + tax and gratuity.
SUGAR REFINERY GRUBS & GROG: A brunch buffet will be offered from 11 AM – 3 PM. The Sugar Refinery is offering 5 ticket types. All tickets include a champagne toast at midnight, party favors and 1 complimentary cocktail. Dinner buffet begins at 8 PM until 10 PM. After 10 PM, admission is $25. Group tickets are also available for groups of 6, 7 and 10.
BAKER ST. PUB & GRILL: There will be a live band and DJ starting at 9:45 PM until close, and a champagne toast and countdown at midnight. Streamers, noise makers, hats, etc. will be handed out. The regular menu will be available. You must be 21 and older to join the fun after 9 p.m.
BAR LOUIE: Bar Louie will be open regular hours throughout the day with a specialty brunch served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., but will close at 7:30 PM to prepare for the celebration. Doors reopen at 8:45 PM for ticket holders. The $75 tickets will include 4 drinks (no shots); a midnight champagne toast, party favors, live music and a reserved space.
