Sugar Land Hosts 11th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony
The City of Sugar Land will honor its fallen heroes during a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday from 10 am - 1 pm at Sugar Land Memorial Park.
SUGAR LAND, TX — The City of Sugar Land will honor soldiers, sailors, airmen, coast guardsmen and Marines who lost their lives on active duty during its 11th annual Memorial Day Ceremony.
The event takes place from 1 0 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Sugar Land Memorial Park, located at 15300 University Blvd.
Admission to the park and event activities are free to the public.

- 10 a.m. -- Exhibits and Patriotic Music
- 11 a.m. -- Formal Memorial Day Tribute
- Noon -- Raising of the Flag Observance
The city will acknowledge the names of Sugar Land residents who died while on active duty, paying solemn tribute to their sacrifice. The names of those service members who were lost while serving our country are engraved inside the Remembrance Tower at Sugar Land Memorial Park.
The memorial features an obelisk recognizing all branches of the military along the names of Sugar Land residents who died while on active duty.

The etched names serve as lasting expression of gratitude from the city of Sugar Land and its community. Two additional names have been added to the memorial this year, including Sgt. Lonnie Green and Private First Class Arthur DeHart, who selflessly gave their lives for our freedoms.
Parking is limited but shuttle service will be provided from University of Houston at Sugar Land, 14000 University Blvd., to Sugar Land Memorial Park. Parking passes can be obtained by contacting Jacqueline Madden at 281-275-2046 or jmadden@sugarlandtx.gov.
