Sugar Land's New Venue Getting Close to Opening
The Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land is six months away from opening.
Sugar Land, TX -- When the $84 million Smart Financial Center opens in January it will be the culmination of years of planing.
The center has been in the works since 2014 and is growing tantalizingly close. The completion of the venue will be another step in Sugar Land's transformation from sleepy suburb to modern destination.
Situated near the intersection of U.S. 59/I-69 and University Boulevard, Smart Financial Center will be a 200,000 square-foot monolith. With a 6,400 seating capacity, the venue will be twice as big as many of the largest halls in Houston.

As much booking as has been announced so far is definitely skewing towards Baby Boomers, the first acts are Jerry Seinfeld and Don Henley and the first musical is Dirty Dancing.
