Xplor Preschool & School Age Care Students Hold Ladybug Release
Students recognized Earth Day by releasing hundreds of ladybugs in their schoolyard to help local vegetation
Students at Xplor Preschool & School Age Care in Missouri City have caught the environmental bug! On April 22, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing hundreds of ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Many students were dressed for the occasion in the likeness of ladybugs, wearing red and black clothing. Throughout the day, students also held picnics outside and planted herbs and vegetables in gardens around the school.
Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Xplor teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
