HGTV's 'Fixer Upper' Couple Calling It Quits
Launched in 2013, "Fixer Upper" follows Joanna and Chip Gaines as they redo houses near their home. Its final season premieres in November.

WACO, TX — "Fixer Upper," the wildly popular Waco, Texas based HGTV remodeling show featuring the husband-and-wife duo Joanna and Chip Gaines is coming to an end.
The couple announced their "bittersweet" decision in a blog post Tuesday, saying they want to focus on other areas of their life. It has nothing to do with any bogus skincare line or anything similar that's out there, the couple said.
"This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment. Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses." The remark appears to be a reference to Joanna Gaines' Instagram post in July in which she said speculation that she was leaving to launch her own cosmetics line was unfounded.
There have been rumors floating around about me leaving the show to start a skincare/makeup line. I wanted to take a minute to let y'all know that it's simply not true. This is a SCAM! We have nothing to do with it and have been trying to stop it for some time. You can help! The blog post said that even though the show is ending, the couple will continue rehabbing homes and designing other house enhancers.
"Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen," the blog post said. "How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place."
