Apprentice Engineering at The Woodlands Recreation Center

The Woodlands Recreation Center will host an apprentice engineering workshop beginning on Sept. 10.

THE WOODLANDS, TX — As part of its Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Saturdays program The Woodlands Recreation Center will host a series of apprentice engineering workshops this fall.

During the workshops, which are open to children 5-8 years old, students will build coding and programming skills by designing and developing simple video games using laptops and MIT’s Scratch programming software.

Students will become industrial engineers and will take part in different activities that enable them to design and construct machinery using assembly line concepts to make tasty treats.

The cost is $316 for residents of The Woodlands, $326 for nonresidents. The workshops are from 10:40 a.m. to 11:40 a.m.
