Chobani Yogurt Empire is Setting Up a Culinary Shop in The Woodlands

A café serving salads, espresso, soups, and all things Greek yogurt is set to open in February

THE WOODLANDS, TX — Hamdi Ulukaya: The man's become a superstar of sorts. He revived an old factory in upstate New York, treats and pays his employees fairly, and oversees a global Greek yogurt juggernaut. Now he's tackling The Woodlands.

Ulukaya's company plans to open a Chobani Café here in February — location to be announced — that will serve "a menu of Mediterranean fare including Greek yogurt creations, salads, soup, sandwiches, fresh juice and coffee," according to the company.

To staff the café — which will be only the third in the nation, the other two being in New York City — Chobani is holding open calls at Hilton Garden Inn in The Woodlands January 10-12. Front-of-the-house positions are available, and baristas, brand ambassadors, and store managers are also being sought.

Ulukaya, who hails from Turkey, can do no wrong, it seems, and his decision to open a café in The Woodlands is a feather in the cap for the Houston area. The company produces a variety of yogurt products, including the Chobani "flip" and savory Mezé Dips.
