Conroe Students Take Skype Tour At Tomball Depot

Historic Tomball Depot Toured Via First-ever Skype Field Trip.

WOODLANDS, TX - From the desk of Tomball's downtown railroad depot: A recent tour of Tomball’s historic downtown railroad depot took to the Internet as students from Stewart Elementary School used SKYPE to virtually travel back to 1907.

Through the use of SKYPE, an instant messaging app that provides online video chat services and video conference calls, Depot staff was able to give the tour and answer railroading questions from the Conroe ISD students of Pamela Petty’s 4th grade class who watched from their classroom on-campus.

Volunteer trainman John Lockwood of the Tomball Depot conducted the tour while Tomball Marketing Assistant Larryssa Roberts handled the mobile phone camera.
