Good Burger: The Top Burger Joints In The Houston Area
H-Town Grub: Finding the best burgers in the Houston area is a toss-up, but you Patch readers did it.

HOUSTON, TX — You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn’t love a great hamburger once in a while, and when it comes finding the perfect beef patty shoved between crispy buns Houstonians have their favorites.
This week, we here at Patch conducted an informal poll on the best burgers in the Bayou City and beyond, and this is what we found.
There is hamburger life beyond the typical chain burger joints, and most in Greater Houston agree.

In Houston, some burger joints are judge as harshly as Tex-Mex restaurants are for their chips and salsa, and the quality of their tortillas.
It’s just gotta be oh so good, with the grease, mayo and all all the fixins piled high and topped with cheese and bacon too.

Here’s the list of some of the most popular burger joints that we got from you, the Patch readers:
- Victory Eatery in the Acres Home community in Houston
- Miller’s Hamburgers in Clear Lake
- Tookies in Kemah
- Ol’ Railroad Cafe in Rosenberg
- Clancy’s Public House in Richmond
- The Little Bitty Burger Barn in Houston
- The Shack in Cypress
- Joy Love Burgers in Katy
- Mel’s Country Cafe in Tomball
- Frey's in Tomball
Victory Eatery, located at 2213 S. Victory Road, has been open since 2010 and proclaims itself the “Pride of Acre’s Home,” and that’s likely a fact.
William Price, a reglar of this burger joint, loves their sesame seed buns and thick beef patties all loaded up with the good stuff.
The Little Bitty Burger Barn on Pinemont was a favorite of reader Damion Baker, who said it was just a place to get a really good hamburger.
The Ol’ Railroad Cafe in Rosenberg and Clancy’s Public House in Richmond both got high marks from reader Sue Conkright Orr.
Sue shared one of her favorites — the Hobo Burger — which looked amazing, by the way.
A little farther south in Clear Lake, Miller’s Burgers was rated high, along with Tookies in Kemah.
Moving north along 290 toward Cypress, is the Shack on Cypress-Rosehill, which drew high praise from several readers, who all said “they couldn’t eat it all,” since the hand pressed burgers all loaded up were enormous.
Of course, if you want enormous, you’ll have to try the Mega Mel, and Mel’s Country Cafe in Tomball.
Located inside white-washed building on Stanolind Road, just north of Tomball, Mel's has a following that's kept coming back for decades.
Having been to Mel’s, I am not sure anything tops it, but it’s worth researching.
