'Hide-Lock-Take' Signs Aim To Lower Car Burglaries

"Reminding the public that they need to eliminate the opportunity by not leaving any valuables visible in their vehicles is vital."

SPRING, TX — The Grow Northwest Initiative marches on and as a step in Safety & Security prevention, we have received a grant of 100 "Hide-Lock-Take" Signs from the Insurance Council of Texas to distribute to area commercial properties to help remind drivers of the steps they can take to prevent burglaries of motor vehicles.

The first of these signs will be dedicated at a brief news conference at the shopping center on the southeast corner of Cypress Creek Parkway and Kuykendahl near the Fabrics & More store on Thursday, May 25th at 10 a.m.. Mr. Mark Hanna will attend, representing the Insurance Council of Texas, Bill Mehrens of SClay Management will represent the property owners and law enforcement leaders and Commissioner Cagle are expected to deliver some remarks as a part of the sign dedication.

According to Mr. Mehrens, "Car burglaries are crimes of opportunity. Constantly reminding the public that they need to eliminate the opportunity by not leaving any valuables visible in their vehicles is vital. The Hide-Lock-Take signs are an effective way to keep that message in front of people."
