A Pair of Secret Santas Pay Off Layaway Balances at Tomball Walmart Store

The anonymous couple paid off $2,700 in layaway balances for customers on the last day of layaway storage.

TOMBALL, TX -- A pair of Secret Santa’s spread a little holiday cheer at a Tomball Walmart store on Monday by paying off at estimated $2,700 in layaway balances for several random customers.

It was the last day of layaway storage before Christmas, and the payoff of those balances proved to be a real Christmas blessing for some.

Joey Zepeda, who was one of the lucky customers, still owed $60 on his Christmas layaway and was trying to figure out where he was going to come up with extra cash for his annual donation to Toys For Tots.

But then, he received an email from Walmart saying the balance was paid by someone who wanted to remain anonymous and he could pick up his package.

Zepeda told KPRC that the donation is wha the Christmas spirit is all about.

"To whoever you are out there, thank you thank you so much and I'm sure I speak for everyone you gave to. You've just made our season bright," he said.

Walmart said the donors want to remain anonymous.
