The city already hosted the D-3 swimming and diving championships in 2013 and 2015, and was awarded the 2017 meet. Now the Shenandoah City Council wants to host the D-3 football, soccer and women's golf championships as well.
The goal is to be able to host all of the aforementioned events during the NCAA 2018-2019 season and beyond. Since no city has ever hosted that many championships in the same year it remains to be seen if the NCAA is willing to put all of its revenue eggs in Shenandoah's basket.
