Spring ISD Launching New Career Program This Fall

Spring ISD is implementing a new career program this fall.

SPRING, TX — Beginning this fall freshmen in Spring ISD will be eligible to simultaneously earn their high school diploma, an associates of applied science of certifications in various career specialties.

The expansion of dual credit opportunities will be implemented at all high schools throughout the district and is based upon partnerships with the Lone Star College System and Prairie View A&M University.

The district is also in talks with Sam Houston State University. Because of space and financial limitations all of the programs will not offered at all of the district's high schools.

For example, students who want to receive an associates in firefighter science will need to transfer to Spring High School, while students who want an associates of automotive tech will have to go to Dekaney High School.
