Tomball Cancels July 4th Street Festival Due To Weather Threat

The annual July 4th Street Festival that normally draws thousands to Tomball was called off due to inclement weather

TOMBALL, TX -- The most anticipated festival in Tomball won't be happening in 2018.

Officials announced on Monday that the annual July 4th Festival, which typically draws thousands from around the area, was called off due to the threat of inclement weather and high wind gusts.

Forecasters are predicting an 80 percent chance of rain on Wednesday, with much of that falling during the afternoon hours, with the possibility of rain continuing through the weekend.

In recent years, Tomball, located just 28-miles northwest of downtown Houston on FM 2920 at State Highway 249, has become known for its festivals that begin with the German Heritage fest in March and end with the German Christmas Market in December.

Since 2011, the city has added the July 4th Street Festival, the Beetles, Brew, and Barbecue Festival, the Blue Grass Festival, the Freight Train Food Truck Festival and many more.
