Tomball ISD Students Caught Up In Sexting Scandal
As many as 12 Tomball High School students are under investigation for an alleged sexting scheme, officials said.

TOMBALL, TX — Twelve Tomball High School students are being investigated by the Tomball Police Department and Tomball ISD after officials learned the students were sharing nude photos.
Officials didn't elaborate on whether the images were shared in groups, or between couples, but did say all the students involved in the incident were minors.
Tomball Police investigators said while the practice of sending nude photos between an underage couple could result in a fine, once the image or images are used as a threat to share with other people, or are shared with other people the charge could become a felony.

The practice of sharing explicit or nude photos electronically is known as "sexting," and has become especially common among teens and young adults, and are often shared through various social media applications, like Snapchat or Facebook.
Last week, Kelsie Koepke, a 25-year-old Paetow High School paraprofessional in Katy ISD was arrested for sending nude photos of herself to a 15-year-old student.

Koepke was charged with improper relationship with a student, and solicitation of a minor, officials said.
