Tomball School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Tomball is August 22. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Tomball Independent School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/7 - 8/11: New Teacher Staff Development/Workday
• 8/14 - 8/18: Staff Development/Workday
• 8/21: Staff Development/Workday
• 8/22: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/6: Early Release (All Schools)
• 10/9: No School for Students (Staff Development/Workday)
• 10/13: Reporting Period Ends

November

• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/21: High School Early Release
• 12/22: Early Release (All Schools), Reporting Period Ends
• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Christmas Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Christmas Break)
• 1/8 - 1/9: No School for Students (Staff Development/Workday)
• 1/15: No School for Students (Staff Development/Workday)

February

• 2/16: No School for Students (Staff Development/Workday)
• 2/19: No School for Students (Staff Development/Workday), Makeup Day if Needed

March

• 3/9: Reporting Period Ends
• 3/12 - 3/16: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/19: No School for Students (Staff Development/Workday), Makeup Day if Needed
• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)
• 5/30: High School Early Release
• 5/31: Last Day of School, Early Release (All Schools), Reporting Period Ends
