Woodlands Art League's Gallery Moves to Larger Location
THE WOODLANDS, TX- The Woodlands Art League's public gallery moved to a bigger location in January to show off artwork.
The former location was eight-hundred square feet and the current one is one-thousand eighty-eight square feet. The new address is 2235 Lake Robbins Drive The Woodlands, TX 77380.
The organization also hosts classes at 701 Sawdust Road The Woodlands, TX 77380. There are children’s art classes for ages 5 and up, student ones for eighth graders to high schoolers, and adult courses. One instructor, Tom LaRock, wrote in an e-mail that the average class attendance is 5 to 10 people.
Mr. LaRock hopefully said that the location will be, “A place where local artists can meet, practice their art and contribute to the community.”

However, he also believed that it is only the beginning of something better. The league needs new members, instructors, and anyone else who wants to make the organization thrive. The average class size is only 5 to 10 people and they hope to increase that.
He noted that the pandemic did not influence moving.

“We found and moved into this space in January as the pandemic was beginning to lift,” LaRock says.
Art students such as A.J. James were thrilled to discover the Lake Robbins Drive and the Sawdust Road locations since she did not attend classes before.
“My favorite media are oil paints and pencils. What I like most about being an art student is that I feel like I’m learning quickly,” said Ms. James.
The Woodlands Art League was founded in 1981. Anyone who wants to take classes at theSawdust Road location can register at https://wal.wildapricot.org/Calendar.
