“We are thrilled to introduce theCoderSchool to the Houston area,” Philip said. “Having kids ourselves really puts into focus how important it is today to learn to code at an early age. theCoderSchool helps kids explore technology beyond merely consuming it, allowing each kid to develop their own educational journey as they learn to express themselves through code.”
Philip and Varghese met through their wives who are childhood friends and Houston natives. The two bonded over being Houston transplants from the Northeast and over time realized they would make great business partners.

The two buddies wanted to get their kids involved with coding as they have seen first-hand the importance of these skills in the marketplace and decided to open a coding school in their own community.
“Houston has always been an oil and gas town,” added Varghese. “We’re seeing these fields as well as many others increasingly embrace technology, and our kids are the future of these industries. Encouraging an interest in technology and coding is a critical step in preparing kids in our community to shape the world of the future.”
theCoderSchool, which was founded by Hansel Lynn and incubated with the help of his best friend, Wayne Teng, was built with the desire to provide children aged 7 to 18 years with a welcoming environment to develop computer programming skills.
theCoderSchool uses a variety of platforms to teach various coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, Python, Javascript and more. Every Code Coaching lesson is customized with the help of trained Code Coaches® who use a 2-on-1 approach to teaching.
“As we continue to expand our presence throughout the country, it’s critical to find the right franchise partners who are truly passionate about setting kids up with a positive, life-long relationship with technology and coding,” added Lynn. “This is why we couldn’t be more excited about welcoming Susheel and Sean to theCoderSchool team. They care deeply about this mission, and we are confident they will bring our level of commitment to kids and parents in Spring and throughout the Houston area and show the community just how fun learning to code can be.”
theCoderSchool is also a proud founding member of the International Alliance of Youth Coding Educators. The IAYCE is an alliance of global partners whose goal is to further coding education for youth around the world.
