Woodlands Board Approves Noise Ordinance

The Woodlands board approved a noise ordinance.

THE WOODLANDS, TX — Area residents won't have to worry about amplified sound at events in parks throughout The Woodlands anymore.

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors approved a policy setting the limit of amplified sound at 85-decibels in township parks. The policy also set time limits on how long amplified sound can be used at the various parks in the neighborhoods — eight hours at Town Green Park, Riva Row Park, Waterway Square Park and other Town Center parks and three hours at all other parks.

The new ordinance also dictates when amplified sound may be used — from one hour after sunrise and no later than three hours after sunset at Town Green Park, Riva Row Park, Waterway Square Park and other Town Center parks and no earlier than one hour after sunrise and two hours after sunset at all other parks.
